good afternoon, im a proud owner of this special car and im from czech republic.

at first i would like to appologize because of my english and the second because of that i dont know any french word.

im posting this text here because i would like to ask about something from electronic equipment and its polite to introduce myself at first

i have the expression model with cabasse auditorium 6CD model without the navigation computer and without the voice synthesator. Ive got problems with the display so i would like to put in navigation unit and put out that old display.

but the problem is - in one town 10km far away from me tehy have this car for sell part by part ... its ok ... so i contacted the seller and ask him for navi ... but we have got the problems with the cabels - its connected other and other cables by tape and we dont know how difficult will be getting out and than getting in the cables which are necesery to correct navi functions.

so i would like to ask you: is there anyone who could help, i dont know- make a photos or somethig like that? thank you very much

i hope too, but the biggest problem is with wiring - i found that the navis' cables are in one big volume of cables and the small cables from navi are really hard to get out from this, that is the right reason why i started to look up another informations.when i saw some photos of "complete navigation" from LAGUNA II or VS on some pages where they were for sell it looked really simple - just changing the antenne, shelter before passenger, put in cd and control unit - put in some cables between this units and tuner and display ... but its not as simple as i hoped

im worry about that the easiest way how to make it right is put in the volume of all that cables and that mine one put out - but its not as simple as it looks

when i started to untwist that cables i found out that some of them are connected into the engine space, into the amplituner and into the passenger fuse board

i will be really happy if i could find here someone who could help me with this project or someone who have only the navi cables (not the big volume of all that cables in the car)

there is last one thing which could solve my problem - the problem will be solved if there were cables prepared- but i dont trust that it will be true

the biggest problem in czech republic is that this is really unknown, so on the pages of "our" renault club isnt a lot of informations about this great car

If I have well understood, you have a cd charger cabasse (x6) with a "monochrome" display. Your display doesn't work, and you want to install a 16/9 colour display that you've found in second hand, but the cables are different. Is that correct ?

For me, if the VS is provided with a x6 charger cd cabasse with a monochrome display, there is a direct cable between the amplifier (under the rear seat) and the monochrome display.
Is the VS is provided with a x6 charger cd cabasse with a 16/9 colour display, the amplifier is connected to the colour display via a "navigation calculator".

yes you are right, in my country as i said there isnt a lot of those cars so imn not able to buy secondhand monochrome display so i will have to buy the new one for about 400€, if i will find it in polland i can buy it for about 150€ but i dont have a warranty that the display will be ok.

this guy who can give me complete navigation can sell me for about 220€ all that i need for navi (display, navi calculator, navi moodule under the changer etc.)

i thought it will not so difficult as it really is

i know that it looks that im crazy but i thought that there were few cabels between relay/fuse box, display, navi unit, navi calculator, tuner, etc.
but the main problem is utwistig that main volume of cables

In Czech republic there isnt a lot of this cars, i really dont know how many were imported, but here when we meet another Vel Satis on the road we send some greetings to each other (for ex. wink by headlights or somthing like that)

the forum helped me a lot, i read some tutorials and now i have a lot of plans, but i hoped that in france could be some "crazy man" who will be as crazy as me and who wanted to add the navigation to the car without the navi, but i didnt found .. maybe its something wrong with me


im not a french speaking people so i have to use translator on translate.google.com and sometimes some sentences doesnt make sense to me so i would like to excuse for asing some questions, which were answered before

Moi je ne me risquerai pas à émettre une telle supposition, dénigrer un pays (à commencer par le mien) ou en encenser un autre
L' expérience m'a toujours montré que dans toutes corporations - et dans tous pays - il y a des bons (voir excellents) et des moins bons (voir franchement mauvais)

Personnellement, j' ai à côté de chez moi un important concessionnaire Renault dont je ne peux faire que des éloges (accueil - compétence - service - gratuité ou prix minoré sur bien des interventions qui seraient facturées ailleurs bien plus - etc ....)
Sans dire non plus qu'ils sont tous ainsi, évidemment

Mais bon .... chacun pense comme il veut ... bien sûr

in my country a lot of people think that renault cars are not good.

im saying that the renault cars are one of the most comfortable for me. i dont like vw cars, skoda cars, seat cars - those cars dont have atractive design for me and i dont like "hard truck".

i prefer french cars at all, and i like velsatis because of his originality - there are only two groups of people according to satis > 1) people who like it, 2) people who dont like it, nothing between

a lot of services dont like repairing renault engines and electronics, and i dont like authorised service (renault dealer) - prizes are too high in my country

work on car cca 500,-/hour in renault dealer ( cca 20€/hour)
work on car max 200,-/hour in my favourite sevice ( cca 8€/hour)

i guess that its not for you but my paycheck is about 700€/month

i had broken front right window mechanism and renault dealer said it will cost 10 000,- ( 390€), than i had broken rear right window (only the glass) and they said that the cost will be about 8500,-(330€)

can anybody tell me the costs of those parts in france ( i would like to have some idea about costs in other countries)

and could you tell me whats the average paycheck cca? as i said in CZE - in my region its about 700€ ... i think that the bigger problem is cost of original parts

In France, the minimum wage, finally normally is 1200 € / month in stock either everything just 1000 € /moi and after there is no limit... but it does not see a person who is minimum wage have a VS because it is a car that costs too much expensive for maintenance...

yop i agree... VS costs too much - in this month i will have to chang rear break discs, rear break pads, oil, and flails

in CZE the minimum is about 310€
